About Dark & White Challenge Events



Dark & White Challenge Events are Peak District based and specialise in organising a wide variety of challenging events:

Trailquests & Mountain Biking - mountain bike orienteering, navigation and forest based enduro events in liaison with British Mountain Bike Orienteering (BMBO) (British Mountain Bike Orienteering). Test both your mountain biking and navigational skills.

Mountain Marathons - from the annual autumn Rab two day mountain challenge to our three hour mini-mountain marathons in and around the Peak District, these events will definitely test both your brains and your legs!

Challenge Walks & Fell Running - events organised in liaison with the FRA (Fell Runners Association) October sees the annual running of the Hope Moors & Tors event in the Dark Peak (8.5 & 20 mile route options) whilst early August is the time for the Long Tour of Bradwell, a tough 31 mile run with 6300' of climb which is a round of the Run Further/Vasque Ultra-Running Championships.

Adventure Racing - our popular DW4 events are Peak District based and four hours long primarily being a combination of trail running, orienteering, mountain biking plus at times other mystery challenges i.e. rope work, water sports, night navigation. Ideal for beginners or expert adventure racers.

Mountain Bike Orienteering/Trailquest Winter League 2009/2010 - Round 5/8 - South Buxton area. A NEW start venue for a winter trailquest! The riding on the high ground in the northern part of the White Peak offers a good network of bridleways (some being relatively unknown) plus plenty of navigational choices/options.

Mountain Bike Orienteering/Trailquest Winter League 2009/2010 - Round 6/8 - Sherwood/Notts Forests. Virtually 100% off-road/forest riding using some stunning singletrack, forest rides & fireroads. **NOTE: two maps will be used on this event - a 1:15000 scale Sherwood Pines orienteering one and an OS map (scale tbc).

Dark & White Events/Cotswold Outdoor - DW4 Adventure Race Series 2010 - Round 1/3 - 4 hours of adventure racing in North Derbyshire/The Dark Peak. The event comprises a combination of superb mountain biking on classic Dark Peak tracks/trails plus high level moorland running - 4 hours of challenging and inspirational racing!
