Road Biking & Sportives
2014 sees further developments to our road biking/sportive calendar.
We are organising a four event Peak District Sportive Series including the following events: The Igloo from Chesterfield (6th April); The Peak Epic from Bakewell (1st June); The Buxton Spa (27th July) and The Tommo from Carsington Water (14th September). All the events include: clearly signed routes; bagged/colour route map for all riders; vehicle support; undercover registration and hard standing car parking; fully stocked feed stations; food & drink after the ride; SPORTident electronic chip timing system. For those entering and riding three out of the four events there will be a fantastic prize draw with a top road bike frame for the lucky winner, a turbo trainer for the runner up plus a variety of other cycling related prizes to give away. Igloo Cycles from Chesterfield are assisting with the supply of prizes.
In addition to the above series, we are putting on three smaller, easier sportives in the Derbyshire/South Yorkshire area aimed at relative beginners to this type of event as well as riders who don’t want to commit to a full sportive course just yet. These will have course options of 20 and 35 miles and will have fully signed routes, a feed station and use the SPORTident electronic chip timing system. See below for full details and dates.
